Contribuiți la feedbackIt’s friendly, it’s good food and you can hear yourself talk. You don’t need much more in a local, and this really is your local. Peacock Trattoria is not really a trattoria, as many dishes wouldn’t be out of place anywhere (think crumbed and fried prawns and squid) but what they do they do well. The duck salad is a particularly good choice of entree, and don’t miss the house baked focaccia. Ceviche tacos are a bit of a novelty, but probably aren’t hitting the exact note intended. Mains are relatively straightforward, such as lamb rump or ocean trout, but there’s certainly something for everyone. Four stars.
What a refreshing change from the previous owners!! I ate at Peacock close to 15 years ago and swore I 'd never go back. Having been told recently that it was under new Management (Zippo 's, Chrys Xipolitas and his sister , I was happy to give it another go and we weren 't disappointed! Being 8 of us, we started with 2 serves of Nova Scotia Scallops w/ ricotta and spinach gnocchi and pumpkin puree, 2 x BBQ 's Octopus salad w/orange and fennel salad, slow cooked lamb ribs with golden beans, radish and sherry vinaigrette, and Zuppa de Cozze with garlic, chilli and tomato passata these entrees were lovely, the stand out being the Octopus Salad. For mains, some of our friends chose the Steak (Filletto e Pepe , 2 others had the Barramundi and someone else had the Large Pasta with seafood (Paccheri Giagante Pasta , as well as two pizza 's, the Go Fig 'ure w/ Fig, prosciutto, gorgonzola and roquette, and the Fisherman 's Pizza They 're now a BYO restaurant (wine and champagne only , so we brought our own reds, however, before dinner some of us enjoyed some of the cocktails, including the Lychee Caprioska YUM!! Finally for dessert, we shared the Roast Banana Semifreddo with salted caramel, and gingerbread biscuit crumb really lovely, and not too sweet : Overall a terrific dining experience, attentive waitstaff, however, a little pricey at $70pp. We look forward to going back, but I 'd like to see if we could keep the price per head down to under $50. Very sad cause I like this venue including the others . Will never go back to any !! Pasta was garlic only should be called Garlic pasta !! Had the owner on the floor “trying” to run the whole show on his own saw 5 tables send food back in a matter of 40 mins 1 star for $160 bill wasn’t happy to pay $1 for this experience with my family kingfish was fishy and not fresh seafood pasta !!! I think the cook not “chef” as this food was not prepared by a chef doesn’t know what garlic is as there were chucks through the pasta never seen anything like it !!! And as for the owner joking around all the time mate your not funny at all get professional and get some customer service hospitality skills and some decent chefs might help you too . Disgrace of a dinner .
If I had a dollar for every time I have been to Peacock, I'd be able to happily retire! My favourite local for dinner and lunch (they even do breakfast! Live in the shire? You must check out their sister restaurants, Italian Stallion and Hazelhurst Cafe for some seriously good cocktails and bites!
Our favourite place, amazing food every time. We always end up coming back here rather than trying new places great tasting yummy food!!!!!:
