Quite a surprise for a chain restaurant. It felt the opposite to other ruthlessly ordered semi Soviet in-house architect designed franchise outlets. It therefore gets immediate bonus points for its unusual and endearing shabbiness.<br/ <br/ It’s an odd mixture of cuisine here. South Indian and indo Chinese. I selected the special biryani meal with a chicken starter and soft drink. The starter was lovely. The chicken was very tender and flavoursone. The raw onion was a step too far though. The biryani itself was lovely. It is very hot but nicely aromatic and quite satisfying. The whole meal is extremely good value for $15.95.<br/ <br/ Full marks to the very nice server here. He picked that the lone Anglo was struggling with the warmth of the meal and very kindly brought me over extra yoghurt which I needed so badly. On one view, he saved my life.<br/ <br/ I like this place. It struck me as an ideal place to spend a cold to coolish day.
The goat curry and lamb curry are out of this world with the saffron rice!!! Very nice friendly staff who allow me an additional non veg dish instead of the veg... ;
Nice place. Biryani is very tasty the only negative is that ours predominantly contained a lot of rice and not enough meat. Vegetarian thali was also very good
I did not enjoy the service so much, but the food is very good. Nawab Palace has the best Hyderabadi Biriyani in the whole of Melbourne. So food wise, you won't likely be disappointed. The side dishes they offer are also quite tasty. What's a little disappointing is the service. They take a long time to serve, and may not always wait on the table like in other restaurants. I also felt that the place is understaffed, with only one lady to attend to patrons on a normal weekday in the evening. I would prefer to do a take out rather than rat here.
You must try the mutton Biryani there. If you are lucky you will get to taste the best. But this happens only certain days in a week probably because of the cook. I had been lucky to taste that awesomeness few times but was disappointed many other times. Tip: Try it on Fridays but it can be very crowded if you go there after 12:30pm. Being there before that is advised.
