We are welcomed into their relaxed atmosphere, surrounded by the nice modern touch to their Japanese decor. <br/ <br/ We had to try their RAMEN at Fukutontei RAMEN as well as other dishes. I highly recommend their pork katsu as well as their fried meats and seafood as their crumbing technique and flavouring on these are absolutely delicious and full of texture. <br/ <br/ We shared a plate of Kaki Fry which were deep fried oysters (which I regret not taking a photo of). Oysters was the highlight of my Tokyo Fish Market experience and with the crumbed technique, it took this dish to another level. The oyster still had a nice creamy and squishy taste, and was balanced with the crumbly crunchy coating, topped off with a nice creamy and spicy mayo. <br/ <br/ The Curry Udon was our favourite dish of the night its presentation, aroma and taste was spot on. In addition, I loved the idea of the beautiful stone stove run on a natural burner which turns off around the time you finish eating to ensure your meal remains warm. The rich aromatic curry flows through the noodles which can make you drool unconsciously. The pork katsu was seasoned perfectly and had a nice crumbly crunch despite covered in a sea of curry. <br/ <br/ I ordered the Fukutontei ramen dish, which had soft bouncy ramen noodles, with nice fatty slices of pork that were to die for, in a rich and nicely salted pork bone soup. I added some extra spicy chicken mince were interesting but was better if not added although it did offer the extra kick of chilli that I was looking for. <br/ <br/ My friend ordered the Fukutontei Rosukatsu Set which is the crumbed pork loin that I will continue to praise for its delicious taste and texture. The process of grinding the sesame seeds and mixing it with their restaurant made Tonkatsu sauce really brought me back to my experience at a fine dining traditional Katsu specialised restaurant in Kyoto. The sauce was refreshing yet full of umami, and paired really well with the Katsu. The rice on the side was very fluffy, and nice to eat with. <br/ <br/ Overall rating: 4
I would give it a 3.5 if I could. Just not quite 4 .The food was pretty good, but not remarkable. I would go back for more later.Overall recommended if you are in the area and want to have Japanese food at modest prices
Good food with ample seating area. Loved the atmosphere and the ramen too very delicious
First ever ramen. Delicious. Large serve that I couldn't finish so took the rest with me. Definitely going back
Nice experience overall with warm welcome when we arrived to quick service of our orders and yes most importantly very good food. Everything we ordered was really good, in fact we ordered extra helping of gyozas as they were really tasty.
