Cherating Steakhouse - Kuantan

I was there too late for lunch. Steak was good. Soup and salad is also good. I want to come back to dinner.

One of my favourite western restaurants in Kuantan will be Cherating Steak House which is located along the main road of Jalan Beserah. I've been coming here whenever I feel like eating old school western meal in the capital of Pahang. I love coming here because this restaurant is big and spacious, and it has this retro looks to it. But most importantly, the quality of food has remained consistent over the years. Do not ask me about the good ol' steak as I don't eat beef so I always go back to the usual suspect chicken chop, most of the times with black pepper sauce. Gotta love the tender and juicy chicken thigh smothered with the black pepper sauce. Over the visits, I'd tried their braised lamb shank, lamb shoulder, pizza and the soup. Safe to say that all tasted pretty much above average. One more thing that I like about this steakhouse is the fact that they have selection of wines to choose from. For me, a western meal without wine is not complete and I'd found few labels that I like there such as Trivento Golden Reserve. I can definitely see myself coming back for the chicken chop when I go back to Kuantan next time.
