We were comparing the steak to Thirty8 at Grand Hyatt and definitely would come to The Steak House more than Thirty8. The dessert is awesome too! The staff prepared it in front of our table for us to make sure it's fresh too.
Yesterday we where at The Steakhouse without a reservation and got a great table for 3. The waiter where fast and gave us the menu. The choices are good and the price is reasonable, but keep in mind that 6% tax and 10% service charges will be added as usual. Upfront we got warm bread and vegetable soup. Both where tasty. The meal arrived, we all had steak, and it was delicious. Very tender and mouth watering. The sides where good. Unfortunately we didn’t had any appetizer or dessert. The waiter where friendly and the service was good.
This steakhouse is among the better steakhouses in Kuala Lumpur. It is located next to The Whiskey Bar along the Changkat street. Upon entering, the interior of this restaurant speaks of old-American steakhouse with brick walls and dimly lit interior. We started off the meal with some complimentary bread and butter. The bread was warm and butter freshly made. We were also served mushroom soup compliments from the chef. It had good consistency and bits of mushrooms within. Next were the Crab Cakes and Beef Capparcio. The Crab Cakes has a good amount of crab meat inside and cooked just right while maintaining the moisture. Beef Capparcio was thinly sliced and did not break easily. The seasoning was on point and had a good amount of Parmesan cheese shavings. The serving was enough for 2-3 adults. Next we had the main course including a Tenderloin steak (200g), Striploin (300g) and BBQ Short Ribs. The Tenderloin was served Medium Rare but it was slightly too dry for our liking. The seasoning was on point. The sides of Battered Onion Rings felt unnecessary. It was too hard and not crunchy. Seasoned vegetables were used as the base for the steak and had a good bite to them. They were well seasoned and not overly cooked. As for the potato side, do go for their Garlic Mash. The Baked Potato was undercooked and dry. The Striploin steak was much better given the amount of fat with the cut. It was juicy and well seasoned. All the steaks came with a side of Salsa as well which had a good flavour and sharpness to it. They also served the steaks with 5 different kinds of salts which helped elevate the flavour of the steak. A nice touch that helped make this place standout. Though I would have preferred if they served some mustard with the steak. The sauces were quite redundant as the steaks tasted much better without them. But if you had to choose a sauce, go for the Red Wine. Lastly, the BBQ Short Ribs were soft and moist with the meat falling off the bone with ease. The meal ended with a Crepe Suzette which was prepared tableside. It tasted okay and slightly too sweet for our liking. Overall, this place is on par with steakhouses like Beato and Ril’s in term of price point and quality of steaks. If you are looking for a steak joint within downtown KL city, do give this place a try!
Wonderful ambience and awesome service by waitress Andrew and Aaron. Started off with complimentary bread and butter, and mushroom soup. The bread and mushroom soup were superb and perfect match. The inner was fluffy warm while the crust was crunchy. The waitress is so generous. Even asked if we wanted to refill our bread. Ordered their started course salad. It tastes good and unique. Steak and salmon are yummy! Presentation of appetizer is pretty and grand, but taste wise can be improved
Great ambience, great love, great service. Good place for celebration as its quite pricey buy worth it. To enjoy their steak, order the smaller grammage one to enjoy other dishes as well. Please finish off with their dessert. Cheers!
