Contribuiți la feedbackWe stayed in Villa Magdalena for 3 nights with full board (buffet breakfast, 2 course lunches and 5 course dinner). Although the usual hotel menu is not vegan, we asked for one, and it was no problem. On the contrary, we felt that they have placed a lot of contempt and attention on it. We received a menu for each meal before to see if we wanted to change something in it (we did not, and everything was creative and delicious. It also seemed that everything (except Tofu was made by scratches with local products that we appreciated very much. Buffet breakfast including oats, cereals, fresh and canned fruit, grilled vegetables, various jams, vegetable milk, etc. Waiters were very attentive and warned us what bread contains milk and that is vegan. They also offered us some extra, such as oatmeal, vegan pancakes, etc. All in all, we were very pleasantly surprised both with the service and with the food itself. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back : Updated from the previous review on 2021 06 12
Chef Mislav used to cater to vegan customers, providing special dishes to keep them interested during their stay. However, on a recent visit in 2022, I found that there were no longer any vegan options on the a la carte menu. Despite this, the chef was able to prepare some vegan dishes upon request, but it was clear that the hotel was not truly vegan friendly. Despite specifying my dietary needs when making my reservation, there were no vegan options available for breakfast. While the vegan dinner was satisfactory, the dessert options were limited to sorbet and fruit, while other guests enjoyed a variety of desserts. It seems that there is not enough demand for vegan food at this hotel, resulting in a lack of options for vegan customers. (Review updated on October 23, 2022)

We stayed at Villa Magdalena for 3 nights on a full board basis (buffet breakfast, 2-course lunch, and 5-course dinner). Despite the hotel's usual menu not being vegan, we requested a vegan menu and the staff accommodated us without any issues. It was evident that they put a lot of thought and attention into preparing our meals. We were provided with a menu for each meal beforehand to review and make any desired changes, although we were satisfied with the options as they were creative and delicious. It was evident that most of the dishes (excluding tofu) were made using local ingredients, which we greatly appreciated. The buffet breakfast included oats, cereals, fresh and canned fruits, grilled vegetables, various jams, and plant-based milk options. The waitstaff were attentive and knowledgeable, informing us of any dairy-containing items and offering additional vegan options such as smoothies and pancakes. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service and delicious food. We would highly recommend Villa Magdalena and look forward to returning in the future.

Despite this, the cook was able to accommodate my request for vegan meals, which were satisfactory. However, it's clear that the hotel cannot be considered vegan-friendly. Breakfast also lacked vegan options, despite specifying my dietary preferences upon booking. While they did provide a vegan dinner, the dessert options were limited to sorbet and fruit, compared to the variety offered to other guests. It seems that there is limited demand for vegan food at this establishment, resulting in minimal vegan choices.
