Although I have visited several branches in the United States and Canada, I never expected to find such an excellent option in a city like Hong Kong, where high prices and a difficult-to-adapt gastronomic scene can be challenging for budget-conscious travelers. Instead of risking street food of unknown origin or paying hundreds of dollars at a Western restaurant, IKEA's restaurants are a fantastic choice in Hong Kong. I have always been surprised by IKEA's ability to offer value to its customers. While I had visited several of their branches in the United States and Canada, I never thought it would be an excellent option in Asia. A city like Hong Kong, with high prices and a cuisine that is difficult to adapt to, puts travelers with a limited budget in a tight spot. We could eat at street stalls, risking mysterious meat, or pay hundreds of dollars at a western restaurant. Since neither option is viable in the long term, IKEA restaurants are an extraordinary choice. Hong Kong has three branches of the Swedish store - yes, THREE in a very small space! - so you are never too far from one of their restaurants. For less than 40 Hong Kong dollars, about 5 euros, we can order a plate of beef, chicken, or vegetable meatballs with couscous, a small container of spaghetti, mashed potatoes, and a cup of coffee that can be refilled indefinitely at no extra cost. Any option is delicious, and as vegetarians, we can choose options that go far beyond the sad white rice dishes that are presented as the only option in most local restaurants.
