Annapoorna Foods - Kottayam

I recently ordered a North Indian thali from Annapoorna through Zomato, and I must say that I was quite disappointed with my experience. While the thali consisted of various dishes, the quality of some of the items left much to be desired. One of the main components of any Indian meal is the rice, and unfortunately, the rice provided in this thali was practically inedible due to its excessive saltiness. It was clear that the rice had been prepared with an excessive amount of salt, making it impossible to enjoy. This was a major letdown since rice is an essential part of a balanced meal, and its poor quality greatly affected my overall dining experience. Furthermore, the chappathis served with the thali were clearly leftovers from the morning, as they had lost their freshness. It seemed like they had been reheated, resulting in a dry and chewy texture that made them unappetizing. The reheated chappathis lacked the softness and flavor that one expects from freshly made ones, further detracting from the overall enjoyment of the meal. While the thali did include other items such as dal, vegetable curry, and a variety of side dishes, the issues with the rice and chappathis overshadowed the positive aspects. Despite the other dishes being relatively decent in taste, the poor quality of the main components made it difficult to appreciate them fully. As a customer, I believe that it is important for restaurants to maintain the quality of their food, especially when it comes to staple items like rice and bread. The excessive saltiness of the rice and the reheated chappathis indicate a lack of attention to detail and a disregard for customer satisfaction. Overall, my experience with the North Indian thali from Annapoorna Restaurant was disappointing. The salty rice and reheated chappathis significantly diminished the quality of the meal. I hope that the restaurant takes this feedback constructively and works towards improving the consistency and quality of their offerings in the future.
