Nestled in the beautiful tea estates, this cozy place is a must-visit. It's a peaceful retreat away from the hustle of Ooty, ideal for nature lovers. The food is tasty and soulful, perfect for vegetarians like me. They arrange tea trail walks, visits to the tea factory, eucalyptus oil distillation unit, and strawberry farms. With only 3 rooms, they pay great attention to detail. Big thanks to Arun team. While the picturesque setting of Prakritilaya initially charmed us during our one-day stay on 10th June 2023, some aspects of the experience left me with a lingering disappointment. Although six months have passed, I feel compelled to share my feedback in the hope that it can be helpful for future guests and encourage improvements at the establishment. Nestled amidst verdant hills and boasting a well-maintained guest house with thoughtfully decorated rooms, the initial impression was truly delightful. The journey to the location itself, enveloped in lush greenery, set the tone for a serene and peaceful retreat. However, some aspects of our stay fell short of the initial promise. Notably, the culinary offerings didn't quite meet our expectations, leading to some disappointment within our group. While there were no severe cases of illness, concerns arose regarding the consistency and potential hygiene practices in the kitchen. Furthermore, a security lapse involving one of the housekeeping staff members caused undue unease and raised questions about the overall security measures. Compounding our disappointment was the lack of responsiveness from the owner, who was reportedly out of town during our stay. Despite informing him of the incidents, we received assurances that he would follow up, but unfortunately, there was no communication or resolution from his end. Given the potential challenges with food and security, a recommendation to visit Prakritilaya would come with the caveat that Mr. Arun, the owner, is physically present during your stay. We stayed in Prakritilaya for 3 days. Mr.Arun made sure our stay was comfortable, right from our check in to checkout Mr.Arun and his staff made sure everything went well. Rooms Rooms has this vintage feel and also neat and clean. Food Food was freshly prepared for us and they take the order two to three hours before the lunch/dinner timings. I must say that it was delicious and both quality quantity was good. My Kids are little picky eaters and yet they enjoyed thoroughly. Activities The resort has lot of options to keep the kids engaged and we also tried the walk in the tea estate. Prakash (Senior staff) explained us how the tea harvesting is done and it was a learning experience for us. Zero waste concept Mr Arun and team are environment conscious and they follow the concept of zero waste, they make sure that no plastic or non degradable waste are dumped in the land. Mr Arun also guided as with the right shops and contacts to explore Kothagiri.
