When me and my partner arrived in Kos, this was the first restaurant we decided to have a meal in. We were greeted by friendly staff at the front of the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised when we saw the prices of the meals that provide. We ordered the mixed grill and the food was absolute quality and the portions are huge (left us feeling so full and satisfied after we finished the meal). We then wanted to get the bill for our food but before we could pay, the owner gave us dessert on the house and that was very delicious. We then decided to return a second time and was greeted with the same quality of service and food. Would highly recommend giving this restaurant a try, you will be greeted with smiles and leave with a full belly.
Very nice familiy restaurant. Food is freshly cooked and very tasty. Waiters are friendly and fast. Will definetly go there again this fall. Oh the pricing is also very good. The food was so delicous I forgot to take pictures. :
Quintessence: Delicious food for more affordable prices if you compare these to the prices you pay at other restaurants that are not too far away, but closer to the beach. This restaurant also offers dishes that you would typically find a turkish restaurant. In detail: I went to Sofra with a friend on a week day to have dinner. Only two other tables were occupied when we arrived, but then again it was very late at night and it was off-peak season. We were looking for a more affordable restaurant amongst all these very expensive restaurants in that area. We were kindly greeted and assigned a table outside. We ordered a bottle of water, the Manti, Bouyiourdi, Bekri Meze Chicken, Pastrami Saganaki and Stuffed Zucchini Flowers with Rice. We also got bread that we didn't order, but were charged for. It didn't cost much, but we would have preferred if we had been informed that the were going to be charged for the bread. So you definitely don't need to order so many dishes to get full. We obviously overordered, but finished everything. We especially enjoyed the manti, stuffed zucchini flowers with rice and the bekri meze, which was especially delicious. The chicken was nice, tender and moist and very well seasoned. The dish was served on a small table stove that was heated with jellied alcohol. Once the bekri meze chicken is served you should make sure to eat it as quickly as possible, because it still continues to cook on that stove and dries out the longer you take to finish it. We didn't enjoy the bouyiourdi or the pastrami saganaki as much as the other dishes, but these they were still fine. After finishing our food we were served a dessert for free. That on top of our dinner was a lot though. The prices for all dishes were affordable though in comparison to the restaurants that are not that far away, but closer to the beach, though it is not the most affordable restaurant on Kos. The service was friendly and polite.
The portions are good! If you’re hungry it could fill you up perfectly! The taste is really good the price is reasonable.
