This mansion was built by Raja Rajendra Mullick in the year 1835. This mansion is famous for its marble floors , sculptures and walls . Located at a very good place.....10 15 minutes walking distance from Jorasanko Thakur Bari. The nearest metro station is Mahatma Gandhi metro station . From this metro station , the Marble Palace is about 290 metres. Though it is temporarily closed due to some maintenance going on inside , it looks very beautiful from outside. Here also , photography is strictly prohibited. Don't know about the entry fees. It is also one of the tourist spots in Kolkata . Liked it !!
Heritage palace of Kolkata with natural beauty. But entry is restricted you have to take prior permission from appropriate authorities to visit the palace.
A must see for every tourist who visits Kolkata. Get to see the opulence in the lifestyle of the rich zamindars (land owners) of medieval Bengal. The Palace houses exquisite paintings, artefacts, furnishings, chandeliers, etc. Wonderful architecture. There is a well kept garden where there are swans, and many other species of birds. Race horses are bred. The owners, the Mullick family still live in the building. The Palace is open to visitors. Open on all days except Mondays, free, one piece of advice stay away from touts or guides.
It’s a beautiful and majestic structure, but unfortunately, it was closed for renovations when we arrived. Hopefully can visit it the next time we are in town.
