Contribuiți la feedbackThey basically serve various types of Bangladeshi Dishes. Food quality is super. But one thing i did not like the qualtity, it is very very much less . Specially for rice items . Even the rice quantity is not enough for an adult person. They serve chickn and mutton items in 3 piece each plate. So if you want to share one plate in two you can't. Atmosphere is decent.
We as a group of four, had ordered lemon fish fry: decent enough Kochupata chingribata: was tasty basanti polao: had a DEAD COCKROACH cooked with it attached picture paneer methi malai: decently okay also ordered a bhetki paturi which never arrived!! Service was very very poor, we had to ask 5 times just for a spoon. Extremely unprofessional behaviour. While we were ordering our food, the waiter was more interested to receive his tea. When we saw the dead cockroach on the food, we were terrified, the waiter kindly told us that we would not have to pay for half of the things that we ate and that we should keep our mouths shut! We did not want to create a ruckus. But we were very disheartened by the service quality and the kind of attitude. Will not recommend to anybody.
This shop has a variety of dishes to meet the wants of a foodie meanwhile also serving regular food from a wide array of choices. Famous among locals and tourists this is not a place for people who can't handle crowds, with 70%-80% occupancy during rush hours and meal times. Festival times see crowds unimaginable. Seating is good, and well arranged, clean restrooms and washrooms available, reception desks available, not recommended for vegans, non wheelchair accessible, no wheelchair accessible parking, or any parking in that case, provided. Prices are moderate, food is fresh, local produce is used, information is shared when asked about each dish, dessert available. All modes of payment accepted.
Wonderful restaurant for bengali food. Mostly busy in Lunch and Dinner hours. But waiting is worth it !!! You must try “Vetki Macher Paturi”. It’s delicious. In desert, Gulapjamun was mouthwatering!!
Great variety of Bengali dishes! I visited 4 times during my stay in Kolkata I found this to be the best place to sample a huge amount of local food! The staff spoke English. I especially recommend the banana blossom curry, the eggplant in yoghurt curry sauce and their famous chingri pathiri. Also, the staff should not really emphasize that service charge is not included as if begging for a tip A five-star place nonetheless.
