Manta - Kohala Coast

The ono was cooked well, but both my wife and I found the shrimp to be undercooked. I've never encountered this at a restaurant before; it’s usually the other way around. It’s unfortunate that the cooks don’t seem to know how to properly prepare shrimp. On a positive note, the view was fantastic, and the kamaaina cocktails were complimentary the night we went. Watching six mantas swimming in the floodlight was a special highlight. Next time, we plan to eat before arriving and just order cocktails and an appetizer while enjoying the sunset.

Loved this restaurant! It's inside of a gated hotel, sort of off the beaten path. It's high end and elegant. Food was rich and well portioned. I would say my favorite dish of the evening was the dessert, the Bombay Alaska I believe it was called. I would come back just for this alone. Service was great and atmosphere was beautiful. Located right on the water. A really great experience for the sunset. Definitely recommend!

Great bar service. arrived early but Matre stated no problem getting an early table. but actually finally got table much later. poor matre no manners or apologies. a most unpleasant evening. Finally seated at a table that wobbled horribly but no offer to correct or any interaction due to excessive wait. Food was marginal but quite expensive. we use to always eat there on trips to the islands but not any more. view was much better when there were more lights on bay. a most unpleasant experience Save your money on this one and go somewhere else.
