Kosaku - Kofu

Hoto is famous local nudel in Yamanashi-pref. kosaku is one of the most famous in kofu. good for vegetarian, Japanese noodle freaks and nature lovers.

Tasty! Many variations of the signature dish; worth trying. Timeless atmosphere and cheap drinks list. This is a fun place to have dinner and the food is good and worth trying the Yamanashi speciality. Recommended

This is the first restaurant we tried in Kofu. We had the the famous Yamanashi houtou for lunch. The taste was quite good but the volume of food is a bit too much. Nonetheless our overall experience was positive.

The hoto noodles were excellent and the portion size was huge. It was served in a big hotpot, so it stays hot to the last sip and it was filled to the brim with noodles and vegetables. If you're not really hungry or have a small appetite, consider sharing one bowl between two people. As a bonus you can also get free wifi from the Lawsons next door.

If you want to try something different try the Bashimi. It’s raw horse served with rice, miso soup and a few servings of mixed vegetables. Goes great with a beer or two. Only downside is it can get very crowded on the weekends, but I guess that’s because people know the food is great.
