Contribuiți la feedbackLet me start out saying that I moved from Chicago where they have outstanding Indian restaurants. Moved down here to Knoxville where finding authentic restaurants is difficult. Tried several in the last 10 months since we got here, and they were ok. Came across Sitar Indian Cuisine and we decided to go there for dinner. It was awesome, the food is authentic. Tried five different meals and everyone was as good as the other. Staff was professional and quick, even though theplace was mobbed. My wife can?t stop talking about it. It?s definitely in are permanent restaurant rotation.
The food was delicious. We came to try the buffet. The last time we came here was years ago and it was for supper. I had a mango lassi. You could really taste the mango in it. It was smooth and refreshing. The waiters we're attentive. You had about 3 standing and waiting to serve the patrons there. The first time I tried Indian cuisine was when I was in France. It was authentic Indian cooking and the family were from India. I loved the way they played on the various spicesto create an intoxicating smell. When I came back to Canada and ate at a local fast food I could not finish eating. The only other restaurant that had authentic Indian cooking was a small Indian restaurant in an isolated street corner inMontreal. When I came here my husband took me to Sitar in Knoxville (not Sevierville-it's closed now) and it was just as delicious as the one in Montreal. I give it 5 stars and if I could I'd give more.
The food here gets eaten so quickly that dishes on the buffet line are constantly having to be replenished. The manager brought out a complimentary mango lassi smoothie after I pointed out one of their serving utensils had fallen into the curry. Everything tasted amazing and the wait staff revolves around you as a customer. Nice vibes, a quality, family-owned business.
3/12/16 I don't go to sitar enough to be a little car for me. my first experience with Indian food was in 2006 2007 as MBA student a student from indien (amit) put me in the kitchen. I have eaten on some other Indian sites from the city and like sitars tikka masala and chicken curry. besides being very well seasoned, I like the chicken stables are somewhat smaller than normal Indian dishes cubed (a norm fourth the chicken pieces that make them quite big) good eating and good service here!
Fave Indian food in knox. the staff are always so friendly and they clean up very quickly after each. the daybuffet is the best.
