Not the best Mexican store there’s more . Worst customer service having petty attitude. And having side eyes
Not only was this a delicious lunch it was authentic Mexican food. I had traditional style steak tacos and my wife had a steak quesadilla. All the food was delicious! After we bought some Mexican candy and other things from tje market. We'll be back!
It was a great experience. I had the carnitas and el pastor taco. DELICIOUS!
Back on my search for the best burrito in Knoxville. To be fair I try my best to compare apples to apples. I usually get a Carne Asada burrito, ordered with no alterations. But now I’m asking them to at least not drown it in cheese sauce. The burrito is judged on construction, taste, and availability (restaurant service). Authenticity isn’t a part of the review because Burritos are most likely an American construct. From what I gather Burritos are probably the traditional food of Ciudad Juárez, a city bordering El Paso, Texas, in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua, where people buy them at restaurants and roadside stands. ... The Mexican burrito may be a northern variation of the traditional taco de Canasta, which is eaten for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but what we consider a burrito is an American concoction. If you know more about this, let me knowThis trip was to, Mi Pueblo, 1645 Downtown W BlvdIt’s a cool little restaurant and Mexican grocery storeConstruction – Construction is a combination of how it’s put together and how the ingredients work together. Unfortunately, they didn’t do well here. I usually don’t’ judge this harshly, but this was probably the absolute worst wrapping job ever! The wrapping was so loose, it made it impossible to keep the burrito together. Any attempt to eat it like traditional burrito would have fallen apart immediately. One thing I loved however is that the burrito was not smothered in Cheese and the tortilla had a great flavor to it. I love a good tortilla. In the end, though I had to re-wrap the burrito when I got home so, All in all, the construction absolutely needs to be improved.Taste – At this time I can say this is the best Carne Asada I’ve had in Knoxville. It’s on point when it comes to the meat. They weren’t stingy on the meet and I have to say the flavor was awesome. It had a great char flavor, and the cuts were manageable. I could eat just a bowl of the meat itself. High Praise.Availability – I went in at lunchtime and they were slammed! Purchasing “to go” was a bit challenging, I didn’t know where to do that at first. But they helped me figure it out quickly. They had two front counters, just go to one of those. There was no real area Differentiating the “to go” location. Everyone on the staff was super nice, it would help if you speak Spanish. It took us a minute to figure out what I wanted, which might have contributed to my wrapping debacle, but to be honest, even with the language challenges, I think common sense would say wrap it up a bit better. Usually, the side dish is almost an afterthought, but I found myself just scooping up the beans and rice like cereal... That’s how good they were. It took a while for my burrito to get completed. I think I waited almost 15 min. But remember they were slammed, I’m totally fine waiting for a tasty burrito.Overall, I will defiantly be going back! I feel they are my go-to. I think next time thought I’m going to go with the expectations I will need to re-wrap. This experience did however push me to start learning Spanish. I’ve always wanted to learn and this will be one of my goals for 2023.
