Umi Teriyaki Sushi (fairview Park Mall, Kitchener)

The Hawaiian chicken had more batter than actual chicken. Half of my order was just deep-fried batter drenched in sauce—where's the chicken? I should have chosen Bourbon St instead. Food rating: 2/5.

The food was mediocre, but the service left much to be desired. My friend and I discovered a hair in our meals, which was rather off-putting. When we mentioned it to the cashier, he was sympathetic. However, after he consulted with another staff member, that employee outright refused to replace our food, insisting that the hair couldn't possibly belong to anyone on the staff. Since both my friend and I have long light brown hair and the hair we found was distinctly short and black, we found this explanation unsatisfactory. I cannot recommend this restaurant; our experience was quite disappointing.

I had a fantastic experience with the chicken teriyaki, udon soup, ramen soup, and bubble tea. I've been savoring the chicken teriyaki with rice at this location for over 17 years. The staff is always generous with complimentary samples, and the food is consistently delicious. The service is friendly and exceptional! Overall, I give the food a perfect score of 5 out of 5.

This restaurant provides outstanding service and delicious food, and I was pleasantly surprised by how incredible the bubble tea tasted. I was genuinely impressed with the quality of this establishment!

I've really been enjoying the Veggie Sushi Rolls from Umi Teriyaki; they're quite delicious. However, I do have one concern. When I ordered the sushi, they included the rolls and soy sauce but forgot to pack chopsticks and a napkin, which was a bit disappointing. I had to ask for them afterward. If I hadn't checked the bag and had just left with my takeout, I would have regretted not verifying everything. It's puzzling why they overlook these important details, especially when it comes to enjoying sushi. Additionally, the owner seemed reluctant to provide extra soy sauce.
