Contribuiți la feedbackI have ordered all their menu and everything is good. Love the place, cozy and warm. Lady owner that serve the food is so kind and accommodating. My favorite is the beef ribs, feels like home.
It is hard to dislike this restaurant, it is centrally located owner run and has friendly service. There is also a lack of decent Korean restaurants in the area. Plus, their kimchi is outstanding. Best i have had west of Toronto. The variety of Korean dishes is there, including cold noodles, hot pots, pancakes, etc. It is also reasonably priced. No open BBQ for cooking though.Unfortunately, the food is at best mediocre, at worst poor. The dried dumplings are awful, the bulkoki and kalbi uninspiring as a hot plate, and the beef bone and pork bone soups ho hum. The noodles are fine, but even the dumplings in the soup were awful. For two however, there are more interesting options, but will have to find someone that actually likes korean food.....
Had a nice lunch here. The vegetables were fresh and tasty, and sides were flavourful. Meal was hot and good. The rice was also tasty. We saw other people eating things that also looked yummy.
The best Korean in the area. Getting pretty close to having everything on the menu and it's all good. Amazing service to boot.
When our favourite Korean restaurant (Korean BBQ Restaurant) turned out to be already closed by the time we got there last night, we decided to give the Shinla Garden just down the street a try. The sign said they were open until 10 p.m. and it was already 9:40 p.m. with no other customers in the restaurant, so I asked if it was too late to order a meal. The waitress assured me it was not. I was already impressed with this attitude of service! But would the food stand up to the test?My wife ordered bibimbap and I ordered spicy pork & kimchi stirfry. Both dishes were excellent. My wife particularly commented on the large variety of ingredients in the bibimbap, more than she is used to at other Korean restaurants. She really enjoyed the flavour. My dish was also very flavourful. There were only four side dishes, which is fewer than those served at the Korean BBQ, but all were good, especially the kimchi! I also appreciated the fact that unlike the Korean BBQ, this place was licensed to serve alcohol, so I could enjoy a cold beer instead of a sweet soft drink with my meal for a change. We also liked the more Korean decor of the place and the fact that they played Korean music in the background instead of a local radio station. While the Shinla Garden won't replace Korean BBQ (we still plan to frequent that place too), we were nicely surprised and very impressed with this restaurant. Good food, outstanding service, great ambiance, and reasonable prices. We'll be back!
