I love joey. he turned my fress on the head. no tomato juice so that I 't enjoy a vegan zeasar, but he introduced me to new possibilities! (get your vizzy on) he also brought my full, not! I can't expect to come back and rock your terrace again!
Good food, the lack of veggies included with the meals is disappointing on the overall. Drinks were very well priced and yummy.
Pretty good service and attentive staff, everyone I've met has been super friendly. The food is great and the drinks aren't bad either. I love there outside patio during the summer and the inside seating has a great vibe too! Definitely worth a visit if your looking to go out.
TLDR; enjoyable, though slow staff. Good atmosphere, and high value food. If you are on a time limit, eat elsewhere. Music Levels: adequate. The music is loud enough to drown out neighboring tables, while allowing for conversation at your own, albeit you need to speak a little louder. Service: Needs improvement. within 5 minutes I was seated, and my drink order was taken. I got my beer and began my wait. However, there were 10 tables active, with 4 people at the bar. However I was able to count 5 servers, bartender included. This adds up to 2 3 tables per person. A slow evening for sure. Even with this wonderful opportunity for great service, it took 20 minutes of me watching 2 of the servers talking to eachother in the kitchen, the bartender twiddling her thumbs, and the other servers disappearing into the back for 10 minutes at a time for me to finally get my order taken. Also, being able to see into the kitchen reveals a young waitress with long hair being trained on how to make a salad by the manager. However, she was not wearing a haircut, violating health code. the waitress handling my table happened to be the bartender, because she noticed me looking around for a server, and specifically came out to assist me. She was very kind, and the saving grace of this experience. She spoke with a soft and courteous voice, while handling my table. All interactions were made with a smile, and I appreciated her service. Lighting: good there is a very soft feel to the lighting of the area, and when paired with the up beat music and a thick ale, it provides a relaxing atmosphere and allows a relatively easy wind down after a long day. The crowd: pleasant when you go to a sports bar, the crowd you expect is of a certain echelon. The people acted and behaved fitting the environment. Some mildly rambunctious, though never interfering with others. Loud, but respectful, and frieny upon approaching. Food: above adequate. the food itself is inexpensive, which is the only reason I would come back to this location. Chucks pricing is very low for the type of food you order. However, the price shows in the taste of the food. I ordered the Surf and Turf. A lobster steak dish. Any other place, you would be looking at 40$ 50$ for the plate. This meal at chucks however is 28$. The steak meat, was a higher quality than anticipated, and only gently peppered, which allowed you to genuinely enjoy the flavor of the meat. Though it was under cooked from my requested state of medium rare, that is likely in an attempt to avoid overcooking. The lobster was sour, though when extensively buttered, and lemon squeezed, it became palatable. The fries, which make or break most meals as the precursor, and palate cleanser, were surprisingly well done. The crisp of the outside layer was perfect, while maintaining a soft and warm center. The corn, was grilled properly with just the correct amount of char to add the feeling of barbecue, which was an enjoyable touch. Edit The waitress just noticed I had a nosebleed, and discreetly handed me additional napkins. This act of courtesy just deserved them a 4th star. Doing your job is one thing, but going out of your way is another. Second Edit This star was removed on my next visit because I have been sitting here for half an hour, and still have not been asked if I want food. I'm settling up here and heading to the one in Cambridge which is much better run.
Tonight we arrived around 9:05 which they said no problem just no alcohol and we have to be out by 10pm. As we come in the door, they have a large poster saying half price apps, which was great, because we just want something to munch on. When our server came to the table, you can see that she is busy, but trying to help her tables, we asked and she said no, not since COVID started. I thought that maybe the store would have taken down their posters that say half price apps after 9pm. Okay no problem, we order our drinks and food. Nachos, and wings rings and fingers platter. 9:35 my order came out and the waitress said, well they burnt your nachos, they should be up in about 2 minutes. We began munching on my platter to realize they gave me hot sauce instead of honey garlic. While waiting for our waitress to tell her, about 9:45 the nachos show up and I tell her, she said sorry the kitchen is having issues tonight. Took the food back and left us with the nachos. At about 9:55 she brought out the plate, and said I can pack these for you. I said we'll sure, I only have 5 minutes left. The bill came and even though both plates were sent back to the kitchen by either the wait staff or the customer, the false advertising, and they did nothing but still charge us for full price. Chucks, you need to fix your advertising, and train your kitchen staff to not mess up more than once on a single customer order. Thanks for taking our money for us to bring home half our food.
