Diner 54 - Kirksville

Amazing place with amazing service. my waitress was very friendly and even fucked with us about hut cheese and how I hated it while she and my friend I loved him. my steak and garnel (the special of the night) were over perfect. could not have asked for a better first experience.

It's normally a great place to eat and really enjoy the atmosphere the only problem that I had was the last time I was there they were very busy and the cook did not get all the vegetables cooked thoroughly. But any other time that I read there it has been exceptionally good and the staff is great. The waitress says are very friendly and so are the other staff.

I was visiting one of my friends in the area and was looking for restaurants to eat, and he recommended Diner 54. Well as a tourist i took his advice. Overall it was a great decision. We started off with the Appetizer sampler. When it came out it was piping hot and delicious. It was standard American fare consisting of mozzarella sticks, onion rings, chicken strips, and potato skins. For the main course I ordered the chicken quesadilla it was really warm, however could have used more seasoning. I placed salt seperately on it and it was still good. The fries were really crispy as well. The strawberry crepes were good, but were very plain. It's something you can get just about anywhere, maybe if it was stuffed with something it would have stood out a little more. Overall the food as tasteful, well-prepared, it could have used a little bit more seasoning at times, however the fact that nearly everything was homemade made it taste better. As for the service of the waitresses was more than accommodating and really made you feel at home. Connie was a fantastic waitress and really went above and beyond. Overall i would rate this restaurant 4 stars

Rating: 3.4 Stars This was my first time at Diner 54. As a Pancake Reviewer, I naturally had to order the Buttermilk Pancakes. Three pancakes just were not enough, so I decided to also order the 2 Eggs, Any Style, with a Buttermilk Pancake. The Buttermilk Pancakes were slightly above average. They had decent flavor. Unfortunately, the outer surface was a little too tough and overcooked, and they did not cut nicely. Rather, they tore when trying to cut through them. For the 2 Eggs, Any Style, I decided to go with Scrambled Eggs. They tasted very good. The Hash Browns were average. They could have used more salt, and they were a little undercooked. They were more on the soggy side, when they should be on the crispy side. For the price, it was a lot of food. I hope to give them another chance in the future when I am back in Kirksville. Based on my one experience with this restaurant, I have nicknamed it Diner 5.4(/10)
