We went for lunch, I got a voucher for two people for two courses, 1st class surroundings, great food, lovely staff, faultless, also excellent value for money with the voucher

We stayed here for our anniversary in a superior room with dinner ave breakfast included. The evening meal was really nice but the menu was quite limited (you could upgrade to a la carte but this was quite an expensive option). It wasn't all too expensive the bar bill was much lower than we expected. Breakfast was fabulous best full English we've had. Staff were all really friendly and attentive even though they were very busy with a wedding. The only negative was that it was very noisy until quite late with people in the courtyard and bar.

I enjoyed the interior design of the restaurant. The Roast beef, Turkey, New potatoes, leeks and cabbage were delicious. However, the Yorkshire puddings were burned, which was disappointing. The tables were too close together, even though there was plenty of space in the restaurant. We decided not to return for breakfast the next morning. The staff seemed busy but were polite and friendly.

We originally planned to come for dinner, but ended up booking a dinner, bed, and breakfast package. Our room (superior) was lovely, complete with tea and coffee facilities, robes, and nice toiletries. The dinner was fantastic. I enjoyed the goat cheese ravioli with pea purée and the braised pigs cheek, while my partner had the potted brown shrimp and rabbit with bean ragout. The desserts were equally delicious - rhubarb tart with stem gingerbread and ice cream for me, and lemon tart with sorbet and lemon and lavender biscuit for him. Everything was beautifully presented. My only critique is that the pigs cheek could have had a bolder, richer flavor and more sauce, but it was still good and very tender. Breakfast was excellent as well, with high-quality ingredients and eggs poached to order. I had no problem getting extra toast and hot milk. All the staff were lovely. I highly recommend this as a romantic getaway for couples looking for a nice escape. We will definitely be returning soon!

I absolutely loved my stay at this restaurant, the only downside was that it was just for one night! The location was perfect, situated in a quiet village but only a short 5-minute drive from the M62. My room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and was equipped with little extras that are rarely found in hotels at such a great price, like filter coffee, chocolate, and high-quality toiletries. The food was outstanding and unbeatable in terms of price with sensational presentation. The bar had a selection of well-kept beers on hand pump and the service was impeccable. Breakfast was served from 7am with a variety of choices including eggs benedict and smoked salmon. I opted for the full English breakfast and it was one of the best I have ever had, with excellent quality sausage, bacon, and black pudding, perfectly poached eggs, and great coffee. The hotel offers free wifi in all rooms and ample parking on site. The staff were all wonderful, polite, helpful, and friendly. If you're looking to experience a traditional English inn with first-class food, this is the place for you.
