The Aspley - Kirklees

So we were staying in the hotel along side, we arrived at the hoteo just before 10 and poped in for a drink im a rattler drinker so have to find something different when away, its a shame whitbread dont sell it, we went down for breakfast which was cooked to order it was a really nice one, we then went back after the football we booked for 7.30 but got there at 7.10, we were told there was a 20 min wait for food which was no problem, but the poor lad was on his and was trying his best to do everything, we waited about 15mins to even get our drinks taken, i went to the bar and was told to wait and someone would be with us, it took a while for a friend at another table who went over again, we finally had our orders taken, about 35mins after sitting down, when they came the startes were hot and lovely, we had another wait for our mains i was about to ask if my fish was still living as it seemed to have eaten my chips, when more chips were brought over in a bowl, we would have had puddings but at this time it was just gone 9pm and to late for me to eat, we gave the lad £5 tip he was doing his best on his own with other staff sorting out for breakfast, we went for breakfast the next morning again only one staff member on we had the porridge that was really nice then added fruit to it,

Terrible experience, no staff! Given a dried up jacket potato, with supposedly chilli on top, it was just brown slop with no meat wotsoever, was just a gravy, no soured cream as on menu. Will not attend again

Great value breakfasts. We visit monthly and always get great service from Phyl. She's a star and runs the breakfast service well. We always get hot well cooked food and hang around for a chat afterwards.

Lovely breakfast, great service from Phyl!! super friendly. Great prices, good value for money, will be back again!!!
