Ein Bekannter erzählte uns von diesem ziemlich versteckt gelegenen Restaurant in Kirkels Altstadt. Nachdem es mir nach etlichen Versuchen endlich gelang einen Tisch zu ergattern, überzeugte uns nicht nur die ausgezeichnete Küche, auch ein sehr engagiertes Serviceteam ließ keine Wünsche offen. Trotz mehrfacher Auszeichnungen ist das Lokal doch sehr bodenständig geblieben, was gerade von Gästen mit Sachverstand geschätz wird. Ein unerwartet schönes Ambiente, modern, aber auch sehr gemütlich und ein faires Preis / Leistungsverhältnis sorgten für einen unvergesslichen Restaurantbesuch. Wir kommen wieder !
First the positive statements: The service is very attentive and nice. The ambience in the restaurant is also pleasant. Otherwise I don't understand the very good reviews of the food in the restaurant. We ordered a cream carving and a marinated steak with garlic sauce, each with a salad. The green salad on the salad plate was mostly cloudy, the rest ( carrots, white wort and croutons and salad sauce) felt from finished production. I had ordered an open red wine to eat that came out of a broken big bottle and tasted accordingly. Otherwise, both the pork steak (in size very close) and the carving (in industrial production) were rather strongly salted to not say salted. The inn seems to meet the taste, it was fully booked!
Through a weekend getaway in the Saarpfalz district we found this beautiful restaurant, off-road, in the old town of Kirkel. During our visit we first noticed the stylish, cosy ambience and a very ambitious service staff. Quality and taste of the dishes we ordered left nothing to be desired. Only later we learned that this award-winning place has been one of the potavorites of insiders for more than thirty years. We're coming back...
