Vernon's Tap & Grill - Kingsville

I have visited Verns multiple times, but today's meal was one of the worst experiences I've had there. My friend and I went for lunch around 1pm. We were greeted at the door, had our vaccine passports and IDs checked, and were promptly seated. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating. We placed our drink and food order at the same time, and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the 3 Alarm Chicken sandwich with fries instead of onion rings. The sandwich tasted like a frozen chicken patty dipped in Buffalo sauce, with no spice at all. It was disappointing. The fries seemed like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. My companion ordered the perch and shrimp lunch special, and said the shrimp were good but the perch was dry and overcooked, with an unappetizing appearance. He also found the fries stale. Despite being independently owned, I have to give this restaurant a low rating for this visit. I have had good meals here before, so I will give it another chance in the future.

The special dishes at this restaurant are absolutely delicious. The dill pickle fried chicken poutine was a standout, with tender and moist crispy fried chicken. My child enjoyed the personal 9-inch Hawaiian pizza, which was so large that we had plenty left over to take home. The service was friendly and the atmosphere near the window was perfect for people watching.

I highly recommend the Panzerotti and Cannelloni at this restaurant. The service is excellent and the prices are reasonable. The specials on the walls are always enticing and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The menu is extensive with a wide range of options to choose from. Don't miss out on the delicious French Onion soup as well.

The menu is large. The food is decent too. The prices are average. The regulars sit at the bar in the back and the restaurant is in he front. Servers are great. Live music on many nights. Open late which is the only place in town that is for later dinners. Love Vern, the owner. He's a generous and very caring man. Known him for years. A definite must if you're in Kingsville. I've taken company there from Naples, Florida. They loved the bar at the back. Try it !

Very great place. i love the environment. food took a bit to come out but was definitely worth the time! i've never enjoyed any type of plum sauce and i had ordered their chicken strips and i usually use ketchup for fries and my chicken but i ended up using 1 and a half small containers of their plum sauce because of how good it was! their chicken was hot and well seasoned i was so impressed. their waitresses were so kind and even let me charge my phone behind the counter in the small kitchen! great place, would definitely visit again :
