The flavors and garnishes reminded me of Vietnam, and there was a good variety of dishes to choose from. Despite some negative reviews about the service, I found the restaurant to have a cozy, authentic, and welcoming 'canteen' style atmosphere. I will definitely be back for more pho.
The new owners of Pho 93 now offer Vietnamese cuisine. Their young children were playing with various toys on a large table, giving the restaurant a relaxed atmosphere. I ordered pork ribs but received a pork chop instead. When I asked the waitress about it, she said it's on the menu but they don't actually serve ribs. None of the dishes had authentic flavors. Overall, I was disappointed and do not plan on returning.
We used to frequent this small café regularly over the past few years and the food was always amazing. However, we recently heard from friends that the café now serves Vietnamese cuisine at night under new ownership. I didn't have the opportunity to try the café during the day, so this review is based solely on my experience with the Vietnamese food. Despite the anticipation of enjoying a beautiful Vietnamese meal, we were unfortunately underwhelmed. The dishes lacked flavor and inspiration, with my rice paper rolls tasting fresh but the crispy chicken being dry and flavorless, causing my 13-year-old to be unable to eat it. The spring rolls were decent, but had too much fat. The presentation of the dishes was lackluster, with minimal effort and creativity evident. The décor was chaotic, with laminated pictures of the ocean on the walls and odd, sparsely placed decorations. The café used to have a charming atmosphere, but now feels cluttered with mismatched cutlery and plates, resembling a makeshift kitchen. The bright lighting and loud rock music in the background didn't contribute to a pleasant dining experience. While it's difficult to leave a negative review, I believe the new owners could benefit from seeking advice from a professional to improve the overall dining experience. There is potential for success in this type of cuisine, as evidenced by other successful restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return to this café and wouldn't recommend it, as there are better dining options available nearby. The affordable price of $4.95 for bottled beer was a positive aspect, which bumped up my rating to 2 stars.
For a wet Friday night, miss maggys was surprisingly calm. I was expecting them to be busy. the personal was attentive. the service they provided was friendly but not too in their face. the ambiente was appropriate and during one of the dishes was a...bit that was missing in taste (the stirring roasted bark with cashews) the sattehun and Mongolian bark were truly magnificent. made better by generous servier sizes. a menu to explore again and find more excellent dishes.
I eat breakfast at a lot of places this would definitely be one of the worst.scrambled eggs were watery and tasteless.bacon was hard and overcooked just generally a waste of $19+ seriously if you're going to run a cafe learn how to cook !!really disappointing...and waste of money the only good thing was the coffee that the Australian lady made..maybe the owners should stick to Vietnamese food do yourself a favour and go to McDonald's down the road.dont waste your precious cash here.paul
