Contribuiți la feedbackWe had a casual dinner with friends who have visited a few times. The value was great, the service was very pleasant and prompt, and we thoroughly enjoyed the Indonesian cuisine. We will definitely be returning.
We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be returning soon. The cafe has only been open for three months and offers a great selection of dishes from all over Southeast Asia, including a variety of Indonesian foods. My partner liked the Char hor fan dish while I had the nasi lemak with a flavorful curry sauce. Our bill came to $40 for two mains, two drinks, one dessert, and a $5 corkage fee for bringing our own wine - a great value. Most of the main dishes cost $10, with seafood dishes priced at $11 or $12. The cafe, which has only seven tables, is conveniently located near the Cheltenham station. They offer both lunch and dinner options, as well as takeout. The decor is attractive and well thought out, with a large TV on the wall tuned to a railway station but not overpowering. Our server, a friendly woman from Jogjakarta, provided excellent service. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that we highly recommend.
Cheltenham is in need of a quick and simple Asian dining option, but unfortunately Bintang Kitchen failed to deliver. While the prices were reasonable, the quality of the ingredients, especially the meat, seemed lacking. The service was friendly and the food arrived promptly and hot, but the overall taste left much to be desired. I may give this restaurant another chance, perhaps it was just an off night, but one more disappointment and I will not return.
Casual dinner here with friends who have been a few times. Great value, very pleasant and prompt service, loved the Indonesian food. Will definitely go back.
We really enjoyed our meal and will be back with friends very soon. The cafe has only been open three months. There is a very good range of dishes from across South East Asia, including a whole section of Indonesian food. My husband loved the Char Hor Fan. I had Nasi Lemak with tender curry chicken in a tasty sauce. The bill was $40 for two entrees, two mains, one dessert and $5 corkage on the BYO wine. That's good value. Most main dishes cost $10. Seafood dishes are $11 or $12. I've attached photos of the menu with prices. The little cafe is close to the level crossing at Cheltenham Station. There are only seven tables. They offer lunch and dinner and take away. Like many cafes in South East Asia, there is a large TV on one wall, tuned to a commercial station - but not intrusive. The decor is attractive and understated. We were served by a very nice lady who originally came from Jogjakarta.
