Raven's Ait Island

We had a quite surreal experience. We stood on the bank and a boat was sent across to pick us up. We were then shown around the island and taken to the riverside terrace where we ordered a drink and a snack. Unfortunately there were no meals available. But it was a great way to spend a couple of hours on a sunny evening and would be really wonderful to have a proper meal there.

A truly shocking experience., rubbish menu (what happened to bbq burgers you still list on various websites? Cold, bland slop. Yes it’s a very pretty location for summer drinks but you can only rely on this for so long. When everything else as poor as it was the location doesn’t really cut it. If you are looking for a place where you have to go and get your own food because it’s sat on the bar getting cold and where your wine glass comes with someone else’s lipstick this is the perfect location. If however you prefer a decent menu, decent service and clean glasses there are many other riverside locations nearby that offer these

They took our booking then when we arrived told is there was a private event and we couldn’t come in. Two wasted taxi journeys. The manager said she would sent us a voucher for a free bottle of wine when we return. We received nothing, will probably never go back and will not recommend.

Avoid this restaurant if you enjoy live music. They have limitations on the sound that they did not disclose until after the event.

We had our wedding on Raven’s Ait in June 2018 and have zero regrets about our venue choice! We just wish we could do it again and again and again. All the guests have commented on how much they loved the venue and how unique it was for a wedding. We booked a year and a half in advance and visited the Island several times. We always felt welcomed and enjoyed planning the wedding tremendously. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful and meticulous in the details. It really was the most perfect day and we thank the staff on Raven’s Ait from the bottom of our hearts.
