Goldenfry Fish Chips

Just came here as we visiting hull Lovelly chips fish teacake and a cuppa the only thing they say. It's a bread cake it's not its a teacake

I have had fish chips from this take away a couple of times recently and do not recognise the bad comments I have seen in other reviews. The food l have been served was always cooked fresh, piping hot and of good quantity and quantity. The fish was cooked in a very nice batter and thoroughly crisp top bottom, no excess fat. The chips were tasty and soft, which is how I like them but again, no excess fat and certainly not ‘greasy’ as one reviewer said. We had 2 haddock, which were described as ‘small portions’ and they were ample size, the fish being £5.30 each. As far as I am aware, the new owners are not running the restaurant which was upstairs. I will certainly be back.

Absolutely shocking. Ordered online and money was taken, only to be told they don’t do it on there anymore? And to sort the refund myself! Re ordered in the shop, got home and the food was not even cooked!! Tried to call 10 times to have no answer. Use to love this place but not now it’s under new management.

This chip shop must be under new management as the food has really gone down hill. The food last year was lovely but now the chips were under cooked and greasy also they were cold. Will never use this chip shop again. Food that bad would not even give it to a dog. Waste of £8.80 as went in bin.

In K-u-H for the Rugby League World Cup and came into this warm friendly chippy for pre-match chips, gravy and ‘patty’: fried mash with parsley and onion. A novelty for us but tasty hearty and filling.
