The pizza place was actually quite nice, and the staff were great – kudos for the excellent customer service and fun conversations about anime. However, I have to say that the hot dog was just lukewarm, which was disappointing. But that’s an easy fix; just need to turn up the heat on that warmer! There are plenty of new games and a good variety of food options. I haven’t tried the hotel yet, but maybe someday!
The rooms are clean, quiet, and the beds are really comfortable. I've visited a couple of times and have never been let down. The porch is beautifully landscaped, and they play great music on Fridays. We ordered a pizza, and it was outstanding!
**Facility Experience:** On a positive note, we were thoroughly impressed with the property itself. It was beautiful, quiet, and well-maintained. The rooms were dark and quiet enough that we overslept on our first morning, which we certainly didn't mind! The showers had excellent water pressure, and the complimentary shampoos and soaps were fantastic. **Rating: 5 out of 5.** **Casino Member Desk:** After our late checkout, we headed to the casino for our new member player cards. The staff member who assisted me was visibly frustrated when my out-of-country driver’s license wouldn’t scan. He had to manually enter my information, and in his annoyance, he carelessly tossed my wife’s license to another representative, asking them to handle it instead. I mentioned that we took the Blackball Coho Ferry from Port Angeles because of a $35 promo credit on your website, but he seemed confused and reluctant to assist. Your website doesn’t clarify which ferry providers are eligible for the promotion, leaving both customers and staff unsure. I shouldn’t have to plead for your promotions. Please train your staff to better understand these situations. Although he explained how to claim the credit, I never saw the $35 credited to my account; just a $5 credit as a new member. Overall, our experience at the player's member desk was disappointing, frustrating, and unfriendly. Plus, the promised ferry promo credits were not applied. **Rating: 0 out of 5.** **Casino:** The smoking section should be accessed beyond the non-smoking area. Otherwise, what’s the point? It’s not the 1990s anymore. As non-smokers, we found it unpleasant to walk through the smoky casino to reach the non-smoking areas. Both restaurants had a significant amount of smoke. After several hours of playing, I lost about $1300 and only received three bonuses. Many games lacked progressive jackpots, and those that did often reset the lower tiers to fixed amounts (e.g., $20 and $50), which significantly decreases payout odds and favors the house. It’s disappointing, as the slot payouts were not generous enough to compensate for the lost jackpot potential. While I understand that my experience may not reflect everyone’s, I felt the slots were much tighter than those in Las Vegas. The staff didn’t seem happy or particularly friendly, and at times, they appeared unapproachable. This seemed to be a common pattern throughout the property. **Rating: 1 out of 5.** **Overall Impression:** The main takeaway is that management doesn’t seem to care about ensuring the staff is well taken care of, which in turn affects how the staff treats the customers. The smoking issue needs to be addressed urgently. It's evident that by not collecting my phone number or email during the membership registration, you have no interest in fostering a relationship with your guests. **Overall Rating: 2 out of 5.**
The whole experience felt completely rigged. I was consistently placing my bets, and just before the machine was about to pay out, it displayed a locked symbol, leaving me unable to do anything. The machine then kept spinning the bets I had placed, aside from a few exceptions. It was quite unbelievable. To make matters worse, no one came over to assist me. Edit: Eventually, Paul showed up, but he was unable to help or connect me with anyone who could.
Casinos are primarily aimed at making a profit, so it's best to visit for entertainment rather than expecting to win big. However, the hotel is fantastic, and the food is quite delicious too!
