Contribuiți la feedbackI don’t know how we didn’t notice this spot sooner. The NY pizza was excellent, and I’m eager to try the house-specialty thin and the Detroit-style thick pies. The service was low-key but perfectly executed.I also enjoyed the open kitchen and view of the pizza ovens.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available but a bit limited. The menu gave a “no substitutions/no changes” vibe, but to be fair I didn’t ask.
The food is good, but given 95% (a guess) of your business is from ferry traffic you need to do a much better job managing expectations. I’ve taken these ferries 100 times. I know when and how to load, I know when I can try to order food/drinks and when I should not. Today, my brother ordered a mortadella sandwich and it came fast and he enjoyed it. I ordered the pep pizza (I was told that 45 min should be plenty of time), but waited way too long. I told the waitress I had 45 min, then 30 min, then 15 min, then 2 min. I had to ask for my bill twice and finally paid, but was given an almost raw pizza. I took the pizza and left, expecting I would cook it fully at home. I’d rather hear that “45 min is not enough time, I’m sorry.” Instead I paid full price for a raw pizza from someone who did not manage ferry-specific expectations (in a restaurant with 3-4 active tables). I would possibly go back, but please manage expectations much better.
The pizza is absolutely amazing. The ice cream inside is also really nice during summer. Don’t forget to try some hot honey on your pizza! Ask for it on the side, only $1.50 extra but man is it unique. It’s quite an expensive place to eat out, but our family loves it for special occasions.
The service was casually friendly and our server/counter help was the best part of our experience. The food took longer than expected for a sandwich and a salad (25 min and we were two of six inside. The food itself was fine. Nothing special but nothing bad, just basic pedestrian pizza place fare…with fine dining prices!! Inflation aside, $20 for essentially a grilled cheese with tomatoes and basil (caprese and $16 for a bowl of Romain with croutons and bottled dressing (Caesar is just silly. Fine if there were special ingredients or everything was made in house but gourmet prices for glorified fast food is just greedy.
My group and I all agreed that this was the best pizza we’ve had in a long while. Their deep dish is so fluffy and airy, while still maintaining that nice slight pizza dough chew. We got “the House” which came with sausage, ham, pepperoni, onions and mushroom.
