Red House West - Kingston

I took my daughters to Red House (we had never been before) on the long weekend. The place was packed as Paul Langlois was performing so we had to sit on the patio. We could still hear the music as the door was left open and that was very nice. We ordered and the drinks and food came very quickly, especially for such a busy place! Our server was fun, and either the owner or manager was around a lot and he set up an umbrella for us, and other patrons, when it started to rain. He also brought everyone on the patio a blanket. He was very personable. The fish and chips was good but not the best (we have been spoiled by Rose and Crown) but the fries were really yummy. We will definitely be back.

My hubby and I went for dinner. The ambiance was nice for a pub setting. Menu had interesting options. I ordered the strip loin sandwich. The meat was cold. The flavour was bad. My hubby loved his trout he ordered. Our service was rather questionable. No one greeted us upon arrive. We sat ourselves at a booth. Our server came over asked for our drink order. He was pleasent. Smiled and made eye contact. Helpful with the drink menu. Our food arrived in a good amount of time. Mine seemed cold like it had been sitting until my husbands was ready. Our server came by to ask how things were. After that he seemed to disappear after that. He was taking care of customers more on their patio. He would come by but not asking if we were good. Customer service is lacking for sure. Other patrons were greeted and seated. Bartender was spending a lot of time chatting up a young male. As was another waiter with another customer. There's customer service then there's social hour. For us our overall service and food was horrible. I would not recommended Red House to anyone.

My daughter & I shared the Roasted Squash sandwich and arugula salad but next time, we are not going to share one sandwich - we will have one each! It was truly delicious and I will go back soon to have another one soon - and I live an hour away. Nice atmosphere too.

I just recently discovered this hot spot. Honestly, it's my new favourite place to go. Service and Food is AMAZING. And they have live bands, which are very entertaining. I am definitely a returning customer.

On the 24th June 2017 our party of 12 went for supper which we had reserved. We were all seated by 6:30pm. Eventually everyone got there drinks. We placed our orders by 7:00pm including 3 appetizers (2 being the same). 3 mains (all the same) showed first at 7:20pm. Going on 8:00pm the rest came. One was not at ordered, or cold and was returned. The steak sand. On special only had 2oz of meat and looked discusting. The waiter was disorganized, didn't know who ordered what.Would we go back? Never, they didn't even take a little of the bill.I am a Red Seal Chef.
