Hwa-ki Asian Cuisine - Kingston

This restaurant provides a fantastic dining experience. The portions are large and the food is delicious, with amazing service and great value. We enjoyed our lunch at a very spacious table. The bi-bim bap is exceptional, and it comes with soup and appetizers at a great price. We love this place!

I am a customer who placed a $140 order through DoorDash, and the photos below show what I received. The Sashimi plate was intact, but our soups were missing. I initially thought it was the driver's mistake, but after speaking with the manager of Hwaki Restaurant, I realized I was wrong. As a loyal customer, I called the restaurant before contacting DoorDash to see if they could assist in resolving the issue. However, the manager was unresponsive when I sent photos to his personal phone. When I called the restaurant, he was upset that I had contacted him directly. I am still waiting for a resolution from the manager, who has ignored my calls. As a law student at Queen's Law, I will make sure that the students at Queen's University are aware of the poor customer service provided by your esteemed manager. I am not complaining about the food delivery errors, but rather about the lack of appropriate customer service.

Food was good when something was overpriced. The waitress was nice, but not properly trained. We didn't even sit when she asked for our drinks order. then she took back a while, although the place was empty. Then for... the bill, she stood there, Bill in the hand, told us the price, waited for us to pay. I had to ask for the bill. Lack of experience and lack of experience in training. The place is not very happy. It is painted in black and dark. The hallway to the washrooms is also black. I wouldn't go back.

My Go-to for a steaming hot bowl of Bi Bim Bop, glass noodles and other Korean favorites. Service is friendly and fast. Food is delicious and well prepared (and unlike any other rating, the hot dishes are hot! . There are good alternatives for Korean cuisine... in Kingston, but many are too loud and brightly lit for my taste. Hwa-ki is a relaxing option.

We have always been told that the best Bibimbap in Kingston was at Hwa-ki so I was pretty disappointed to find that it was not only lacking in flavor but also wouldn't make my top 3 in Kingston (so far). Decent portions with a load...of veggies meat and rice, but somthing was missing and it was under flavored. Also the bowl was cool to the touch with 15 minutes, this is not normal for a stone bowl dish. The biggest issue we has was the temp of the food, the miso soup was delivered to the table luke warm at best, bordering on cold. Our first ap was the Chicken skewers, they were over sauced and also warm but not hot (they did appear to be cooked). It was just my wife and I, and the restaurant was fairly empty (two other tables had quests) so I was surprised when they weren't even able to serve us at the same time, my Bibimbap arrived a good 5 minutes prior to my wife's dish. The best bite of the night was the deep fried tofu. It was excellent (and hot)
