Copper Penny Grill N Home - Kingston

I went to Copper Penny for a late lunch yesterday. I ordered Gourmet Mac and cheese I ate it because I was hungry but there were tsp. of sauce (more like paste) with dry, cooked seasoned macaroni piled on top. The only cheese I...saw was a sprinkling of parmesan on top along with the sprinkling of toasted bread crumbs and bacon. The Loblaws Mac and cheese at the deli counter is far better and for the price I paid, I would have had enough for several meals it was my first and last visit to this restaurant.

I was very dissapointed as I thought the sandwhiches/wraps would be made with real meat, not deli. It ruined the overall taste of the wrap, as it just tasted like a deli meat sandwhich i could of got from Metro/Loblaws for cheaper. The pesto...mayo did not taste like pesto either. Additionally, Fries were over cooked. I had paid over on meal, and it was just thrown away. Poutine was subpar too.

We recently ordered takeout from this Copper Penny location. Service was very good and they are set up well for the pandemic. We both ordered the seafood platter which comes with battered fish, shrimp, sriracha cod strips, coleslaw, fries and condiments. The meal...was certainly plentiful and overall not too bad but the battered fish was not that good. It had a lot of breading and minimal fish. It's not too often I leave something on my plate but I finished everything else and only ate half of the battered fish. The sriracha cod strips were much better.

A very small cozy restaurant. Great food and friendly service. Everything we have tried there has been excellent fare

I had been to the downtown location and enjoyed my experience in the past, but I tried this location recently and was disappointed. As someone with food sensitivities, I was happy to have a very clearly labelled menu, however when I went to put in...my order, I was told they had run out of tortillas. I was disappointed because what I got didn't seem like what the menu had listed despite the bread substitution. The fries were amazing as always, but really didn't feel filled because my portion seemed smaller than usual. This location has the seating in a really bad place, especially for winter, every time the door opens there is a freezing gust of air that chills you to the bone and I was close to the back wall so the poor souls near the door must have been ice.
