Chez Piggy - Kingston

I expected more and better vegan options. I had the hummus plate, which was decent but nothing special. Nice spot and friendly service though. Updated from previous review on 2023-10-23

Went to Chez Piggy around 2pm on a Saturday and picked a couple of items off of their lunch menu. They only had a few items that could be made vegan and it left us a little disappointed. We landed on the fries with cashew aioli and hummus plate. Both were pretty good for a lunch/snack paired with some drinks. I would definitely want to come back to try either their breakfast or dinner menu.

So happy to see a menu where so many items can be made vegan upon request sandwiches, salads, pastas, starters, etc. The service was absolutely superb, and the cocktails were delicious! A Kingston staple!

Delicious anniversary dinner. Server was very knowledgeable as menu says that anything vegetarian can be made vegan. My husband wanted Caesar salad so our server double checked and found out it can’t be made vegan, no big deal either as there are so many other choices. The kimchi tofu bowls were delicious and tofu cooked perfectly. Will definitely go back back.

This place was a solid spot for our lunch. Located just steps from The Springer Market Square, which makes it the perfect place for a lunch stop after the Farmers Market on a Saturday morning. We discovered it thanks to local friends that were taking us around Kingston for the weekend. The food her was very fresh and exactly what you'd expect out a casual lunch date. They had an amazing selection of craft sandwiches, salads, pasta, and mains. All the bread is made fresh in their sister bakery located at the front of the restaurant call Pan Chancho which makes it extra special and superior than any other ordinary sandwich. The atmosphere of this place is especialy captivating thanks to their massive gorgeous patio with lots of shade casting from the enormous tree that they have in at the back. Felt very fresh and quaint, with a touch of French flare thanks to the cobblestone ally ways and quarters surrounding their location. Service was friendly and brief, nothing over the top here. Even though they were busy and we got their a peak lunch time, it was very efficient and attentive. Definitely worth visiting this place if you are looking for a casual lunch date with friends or even solo. I think it makes for a great spot to grab a drink or coffee, a good book to seat and enjoy the afternoon in their patio during a hot summer day.
