Contribuiți la feedbackLet me just preface by saying that we have dined at multiple Morton’s in the past and have never had an issue like we have had before. I am also not the one to write bad reviews or be a “Karen”, as we are in the restaurant business and small things can truly impact your reputation. My mother and I were seated for 20 minutes, drinks on the table and appetizers ordered. The manager, came up to the table and essentially told me that I had to take my hooded sweatshirt off. I did not have anything on underneath so I could not take it off. With food ordered and wine on the table he essentially told us we would not be served anymore and had to leave. The fact is that we were seated and the host and server both were aware of what I was wearing and proceeded to still seat and serve us. It was actually one of the most embarrassing things that has ever happened, having being told we have to leave and the whole restaurant watch this situation happen to you. If you as a manager are so firm on your dress code, educate your staff to look at these things before you seat them and serve them. I would have been completely fine if I was told at the door that I couldn’t be seated due to my hoodie, but after being sat, eating, and drinking I was fumed. In today’s society, I truly feel like I was singled out being a person of color. I am never one to “pull that card”, but being a mixed man with my white mother, she was finally able to see what it’s like to be discriminated against. The lady directly across had a rain jacket on “as it was in fact raining outside” and she was not asked to leave. But despite that, it was a very unprofessional situation that should not have happened to anyone in a public setting.
My sister made a last-minute reservation for three and 24 hours later we’re still talking about the meal. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. We shared the sundae that had a brownie base which we assume was made fresh to order since the sundae takes 20 minutes to make (which they tell you when you order it). Well worth the wait!
Delicious meats and ambiance. Much better than Sullivan's. Lamb and ribeye was exquisite. Lobster cold or broiled was perfect.
Simply put…the worst experience at a high end steakhouse. Took two hours get our food and the manager came out twice and each time gave us another excuse. Always had great times here, but what has happened to this place??? Does this look like a medium steak?
I've eaten at Gordon Ramsey's London restaurant in New York and I enjoyed the food at Morton's much more. Everything had so much flavor. The chefs did an amazing job and our server was extremely pleasant. This restaurant definitely is among the top of my list of restaurants I've been to in the Tri-state area.
