I have to say that one star is too generous for this restaurant. I would never come back here even if it were the only option available. This was not my first choice, but unfortunately it was Sunday night.

The restaurant has a lovely outdoor patio and the service is friendly. However, the beef in the steak and kidney pie was overly dry and difficult to eat. The poutine was made with grated cheddar instead of traditional cheese curds.

We rarely go out to eat...and I am always reminded why when things like this happen. We live in Port Elgin and thought we would try this restauarant for the second time. My memories are of flies...inside, so we sat outside. Luckily there was a nice breeze so even though we saw flies inside (through the window), there were none outside. We ordered one order of haddock and chips and one of cod - no chips (plenty of chips for two on one order). I like the option of a reduction of about $4 without chips. Batter is a bit thick but we like batter so quite enjoyed this part of the meal. Fries good, didn't taste frozen to me.Our complaint was the beer! We very much enjoy a rare beer "on tap" and looked forward to that treat. My husband ordered a half pint of Guiness and me a half pint of Rickard's Red (our usual favorites!). I returned mine as it was tasteless and very carbonated! When I got my replacement it wasn't much better. Upon closer inspection (and tasting of the Guiness) it was also different...not as "thick" and had carbonation also! The waitress seemed annoyed that I sent the beer back (which I have NEVER done before, we aren't those types of customers) and I was half way through my meal before the replacement came. Not just that, she didn't ask "how is the new beer?" or seem to care at all. She was busy, but not so much that she couldn't ask. So $37 later (including a small tip), we were once again disappointed by "going out" for a treat. :-(

Patio and deck area very, very small. Ordered fish and chips and a wrap. Lady next to us ask us for ketchup as she had none. We asked the waitress for salt and pepper as we had none...we never did get it had to ask next table. Fish was floating in grease and so was the fries. Wrap was open both ends so everything fell out when you picked it up. What was a real shocker was a dog on the deck where every one was eating, It was barking and growling at other dogs. Very upsetting. I have a dog would not think to bring it to a restaurant.
