The Old Bauernhaus - Kimberley

For dinner there was a 30th birthday. I get the 2 hours reservation time, but we were reminded 5 times during our time and we ordered immediately. We had finished our meal at 6:15 and we had our table until 7. The server came and offered Dessert, but we said we didn't have enough time for the strudel again. At this point it had completely ruined our meal. I could understand if we take time to eat, but we didn't. It completely ruined the whole evening and it did not help the server too friendly. We did not feel desired and paid and go. The restaurant lost in extra dessert sales as well as drinks, because at this point we only wanted our bill and out. We have never experienced this anywhere in any restaurant and again I understand the 2 hours window, but your guests do not feel desired after you have just spent a good amount of money, is terrible customer service. We will definitely not be back and we would never recommend this place. Plenty of friendly places to eat in the area.

This was our first visit and the third for our friends who were also visited from Ontario. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We had a variety of entrees and all were excellent.

The farmhouse is a new foundation of the original in southern Germany and reconstructed in Kimberly. Excellent restaurant for a truly Bavarian menu! Great service, reasonable prices and extensive menu options. Book early for a table... this is a very popular place. Interior and amenities bring you back to Bavaria. Try different menu items as well as secondary dishes... You will enjoy the experience. We look forward to returning!

Very funny and cozy old world atmosphere with delicious food. Some ducks, like pighocke must be ordered a day before the time.

Although it was a busy evening, we were not disappointed in any way. We were there during ski season and (as advised by our hotel desk) called ahead for a reservation. We went for an early dinner (about 5:30-6:00) and were seated quickly. I'd recommend...making a reservation and dining early rather than later. My husband and I both ordered German-style dinners--meat and potatoes. Vegetable were excellent. The server was being rushed off her feet as all tables were filled but she managed to get everything done that was required without neglecting anyone. And she stayed cheerful and attentive, too.
