Cairn - Kilmacolm

First visit to Cairn the food was exceptionally high quality, including the lovely cake and coffee and reasonably priced. Nice, relaxed ambience.

Simple menu, but exceptionally well made, can not recommend enough. weinliste similarly small, but again well made I had the red at each end of the price class and can recommend both. [that has said it is quite obvious why the better is, well, dear; it is really nice]:

We enjoyed a lovely meal here. The limited menu was a promising sign, as it often indicates that effort has been put into creating quality, freshly prepared dishes. We started with scallops accompanied by flower charcoal and black pudding, which were perfectly cooked and incredibly delicious. Next, we had the beetroot and feta salad with walnuts, which was a delightful bite. We also ordered the steak frites, featuring a beautifully tender steak served with thin fries. The garlic-crimped butter that accompanied the steak was fantastic. The wine was excellent, and the service was top-notch. We're definitely coming back!

What a delightful experience! Nestled in a charming corner with a modern interior, this restaurant offers a menu that's perfectly suited to its ambiance. The food is exceptional, and the coffee is the best I've had in a long time. A must-visit spot! We will definitely return during our next adventure on the mainland.
