Contribuiți la feedbackI visited the Bayview Hotel yesterday with my Dad. We arrived around 8:15pm, both very hungry after a long drive, exploring the Wild Atlantic Way in Donegal. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Our meal was delicious...fresh cod, served in a light and crispy batter, with a lovely side salad and great coleslaw. Not impressed with the chips, though! They were ok, but I suspect they were cooked from frozen. I'd definitely return.
I recently visited this place for a meal with a few friends and after looking forward to a simple smoked chicken sandwich I was greeted with what seemed to be a deconstructed chicken sandwich , cold chicken, coleslaw , salad and a few tomatoes and a very skimpy looking piece of brown bread. The server said it was on the docket as a sandwich so that must be what it is. It seems this place only cares about getting people in to drink and overcrowding the place during a pandemic than actually pleasing its customers with the food.
Friendly place with a great view of the bustling fishing port. Efficient service of very good food at a reasonable price.
Room was very clean and breakfast was lovely. Hotel carpet wasn 't hoovered every day, we stayed for 3 nights and the stairs carpet wasn 't hoovered once during our stay. The main hotel toilet in the foyer could have been kept cleaner. The location of the hotel is just ideal but management needs to look more closely at the cleaning of the hotel, it never felt 'clean ' which is a pity.
We had a lovely weekend break in the bay view hotel. The room we were in was very spacious and clean with sea views. The room itself was fairly modern and nicely decorated but the bathroom could do with a bit of a face lift. It was very clean and had all we could need but there were rust holes in the bath which was a little off-putting. The location was right in the middle of the town and it wasn't too far in the car from attractions like sliabh liag sea cliffs and silver strand beach. There were a number of lovely restaurants right on the hotel doorstep and a supermarket about five minutes drive away which was also very handy. We stayed from Friday-Saturday and found that a lot of the attractions in the town only open Mon-Fri off season so this is worth checking before you go but there is plenty of outdoor activities to do especially if you like hiking and walking. On the Saturday night the bar in the hotel had live music and had a really good buzz about it. We could hear the music from the room but it wasn't loud enough to be a bother and I didn't need to use the earplugs I'd brought with me. The staff were all lovely and very helpful and welcoming and we had a great time!
