Contribuiți la feedbackMy family took my sister out for a birthday dinner and the service was exceptional. The owner greeted us warmly and even spent time chatting with our father like they were old friends. I've only been to La Foresta a few times since I live out of state, but whenever I visit family, my wife and I make a point to dine at this restaurant. If you're in the mood for a great Bourbon selection, look no further than La Foresta. They have options that will WOW you.
Food and service were excellent! Can't wait to go again!
The special signature dish was not special at all and would not have been a value at half the price. The large portion of sea bass had soggy bread crumbs and little flavor. A huge portion of mashed potatoes was warm, not hot. A small portion of julienne vegetables was good. For the price, just under $40, I would have expected a salad to be included, but that would have added another $10 to the bill. Dessert was a large piece of cheesecake, again nothing special, and the two of us didn’t even finish one piece between us. Beautiful restaurant aesthetically but the food lacking. Perhaps I should have tried an Italian pasta dish. But I won’t be returning.
This was our first visit to La Foresta after seeing it featured on Channel 8. The food looked amazing and the wine list was said to be quite impressive. It 's a 55 minute ride from home (Fairfield County), but we were quite curious so decided to 'make the trip ' on a Saturday night. It was a very easy and enjoyable ride (better than driving to Greenwich or Stamford) with a huge and convenient parking lot. The restaurant was bustling, with 3 separate dining areas, and Francesco (the owner) was very welcoming and friendly despite how busy it was. We were seated very comfortably and the ambiance was fun and energetic. The wait staff was very attentive yet didn 't rush us at all. We ordered drinks and a glass of wine, and our meals were absolutely delicious. The drive home went by quickly as we discussed the great dinner we just had. Will definitely be going back, with friends and family in tow. It 's ABSOLUTELY worth the drive from anywhere in the state! faleminderit Franceso!
We 're foodies new to the Madison-Killingworth area and in the process of checking out area food establishments. LaForesta has been on the list and waiting for a special occasion. We went on a Friday night, so I made reservations on line, a simple process from the web site. We arrived a few minutes early for our 6:30, and were greeted by the owner and seated quickly. The dining room is beautifully decorated and comfortable. Noise level was moderate and not an intrusion. Colleen was our server and did a great job with the menu. From my observation, all of the servers seemed to be experienced (no kids). We never felt rushed, and had lots of time to enjoy the ambiance, the wine, and conversation without constant intrusion. The calamari appetizer was tender with plenty of cherry peppers and rings. I like the tentacles, but there wasn 't a lot of them on the plate. Not a major issue, just my preference. I had the braised Angus short ribs, no knife needed, tender and delicious. My wife had the Sea Bass special with a generous sized fillet. Veggies were crisp and fresh, and the mashed potatoes were as good as mom used to make. We had an excellent bottle of Malbec with dinner. Cork is provided so that you can bring remaining wine home. The wine list is among the best in the state with over 10,000 bottles! We skipped dessert but finished off the meal with two cappuccinos. Good but a bit too much milk for my taste. On the far side of the restaurant from where we sat is a large square bar with a piano player on the night we were there. It looked like a nice place to have a cocktail either as an end of the week hangout or just waiting for a table. We expected it to be packed, but the restaurant was about half full between 6:30 and 8:30. The menu is extensive without being overly large. Pricing is on the expensive side, with pasta dishes ranging from 23 to 28 dollars. Entrees ranged from 30 to 50 dollars and were high quality. We will be back!
