Excellent evening meal; I had prepared the Mediterranean pasta before me; my wife had the chicken carving. the schinitzel was the best since his recording in Germany! it was close to the closing time and the chef (colin) came out to see how everything was. kellnerin (tracey) was super nice. Even with such an evil snowstorm outside, we never felt rushed. very cheap. I'll be back (maybe tonight)
The food is consistently better than I anticipated. It's a lovely escape after a day on the slopes, providing a welcome break from the busy atmosphere of the ski lodge.
This visit was not as good as in the past. My wife and I make a point to dine here every year, but this might be our last time. Christina, the bartender, repeatedly neglected to use the ice scoop; instead, she used her bare hands to grab ice cubes while handling money, and she didn’t wash her hands afterwards. As for the French onion soup, which is usually excellent, it was disappointing this time. The soup was lukewarm, and the cheese on top wasn't even melted properly—it really needed to be placed under a broiler to achieve that golden brown melt. The price was comparable to fine dining establishments, but clearly, the quality and care in preparation were lacking.
We skied over to stop in at 10:30 after starting on the slopes at 8:00 a.m. No signs stated the hours, in fact one sign said 9 to 9. After skiing down and removing equipment, it was sad that it wasn't open. No menu was posted anywhere near the location. We hope to go back and try it some day, but it isn't convenient unless you stay at the local condos.
