Geechie's Southern Style - Killeen

Don't waist your time, came to support a mom and pop restaurant but they don't want to be a restaurant they want to be a drive thru. No indoor eating they have changed to to-go orders only. Oh well so much for first impressions.

Being born and raised in SC I’ve been missing good southern cooking from home! So I was very excited to try this restaurant. The atmosphere and location are both very peaceful and the staff were also very pleasant!I got the 6pc Fried Chicken wings and tried their Macaroni and cheese, cabbage (wanted collards but they were out), and their rice and gravy. The food was a bit too salty and peppery for my liking. The rice was salted a long with the gravy being salty. The chicken was salty along with the batter of the chicken being salty. The cabbage was decent but too overcooked for my liking. I liked the consistency of the Mac and Cheese just not the seasoning as it was also salty and peppery.I understand different areas in the south have different ways of cooking it’s just their style was not MY preference. But overall a comfortable establishment.

I feel like their food is cooked for someone on a bland food diet. It's a busy place on a Sunday. But the wait time to place a called-in carry out order is ridiculous. Also, how do you get an order wrong that was written down and repeated back to the caller?!

Very enjoyable experience. The food was the best I've ever had that wasn't cooked at home! Very friendly staff. I highly recommend it.
