Spicy Garden Indian Cuisine - Kilkenny

Staying in Adelaide for some reason was hanging for Indian food. We drove down Torrens and came across this little place AMAZING. We had Beef Korma, plain rice and naan bread and it was only $20!!!!! Yum yum will be back here again

The 'food' here is appalling. Tasteless - expensive - and takes an AGE to get it. There are so many issues going on here its hard to know where to start.The service is atrocious - they run around a filthy kitchen like headless chickens. Stress levels are sky high and the atmosphere is tense. It's almost as if you, as a customer, have come along to ruin their day. Once was enough. NEVER AGAIN.

I placed a takeaway order using a Scoopon voucher. The order was to be picked up at 8 o'clock, I turned up 10 mins early. I didn't mind waiting until the wait exceeded 40 mins! As I was waiting I was asked about 3 times If I had brought my voucher and which one it wasThe people there don't have basic manners, like saying hello when a customer comes in. Or sorry to keep you waiting. No Customer service skills at all.As I was getting quite impatient a woman stormed out of the kitchen shouting at me that they are really busy tonight and that the person that took the order wasn't supposed to take the order (As if this is my problem!) Anyway I told her this is no way to treat customers and she went back to her dirty kitchen. Also as I was waiting one women, a cook, picked the phone up with her hand covered in sticky flour or whatever food it was (Gross!) I had never seen this before.I was waiting for so long I had a few glimpses of their kitchen and it was filthy. I could smell the rubbish coming from their kitchen into the dirty restaurant. On my way out I told the man that they should not put their business on Scoopon if they cannot handle business. I was not able to eat the food. Obviously I will not be going back.

This review refers to an experience purchasing food using a Scoopon.The service was horrible. The lady on the phone was happy to accept the order as such but as soon as a Scoopon was mentioned she would say that "they were booked out" and we'd have to order a few days in advance. There were no such restrictions mentioned on the Scoopon so it was rather upsetting. When I order take away I want it now, not three days later...The food itself was barely passable. I cook better meals for my parties and get-togethers. There was nothing that would stand out but on the positive side, all was reasonably edible. They definitely do not live up to their name as the "spicy" garden, the food was fairly bland, it didn't have any bite or particularly nice flavours. The serving size was OK, seemed a little less than average for typical take away of this kind.It was OK-ish as a once off take-away but I don't think I would buy there again.

So the review doesn't start off well Spicy Garden are on the Menulog site so I ordered a home delivery 90 minutes and one phone call later.
