The Strand Seafood Bistro Guesthouse And Cafe

Kilkee is a spectacular location, with some good places to eat and stay. Would not recommend this place for a stay.

I went here for dinner with my husband and my parents. The staff were very accomodating, as my Dad can barely walk, they allowed us in early and placed us near the door. The waitress even patiently listened to his long stories and took some group photos (He doesn't get out much! . The view over Kilkee strand is a big part of the experience, as we watched the activity on the beach, until late evening. It's a very peaceful setting. We mostly ordered the specials, which were scallops and seabass, both of which were delicious and perfectly cooked and had flavourful sauces and sides. The desserts were also a bit hit! In particular, the Bailey's cheescake which was both creamy, yet light and fluffy in texture, and the chocolate cake, which was moist and had great chocolate depth. We were also very happy with the wine selection, and we ordered a very good Italian white wine, which went very well. Overall, we had a very pleasant evening and were still talking about how lovely it was a few days later!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and absolutely would return again. Chowder is one of my favorite starters and the one that I had in the strand is by far the nicest I have had recently. Overall we were very pleased with the meal and wine choices. Staff were very friendly and efficient. We cleared our plates! Yum :

Delighted to see The Strand restaurant staff are all now wareing face covering and there is also very good social distancing. Great to see in these strange times. The food as always was excellent.
