Just a flying visit , lovely pint of tennents lager ,
I wasn't keen on this place, so much. They kept trying to sell me alcohol, and I explained that I couldn't imbibe, on account of my religion. When I asked for s Skyscraper Burger (a double cheeseburger with Donner meat on top), they explained that not only were they unable to accommodate my request, as it is a pub, they explained that only one premises in Kilbirnie had the capability to facilitate my request Barbecue Hut, the best kept little secret in North Ayrshire. Open from 3pm to 1am, they cater for all between the large family to the inebriated boozehound without breaking the bank and at least fifty percent of the time, your food will arrive still warm. Guaranteed.
I was out with my husband for a meal and we decided to go up the west end of town as he knew a place that had plenty of atmosphere. After he had five pints of strong lager I was starting to wonder when they were going to bring the menus out and I went up and asked the stroppy big blooter behind the bar if he could see his pre -theatre menu. He pointed at a box of cheese and onion walkers crisps and said “That’s it there hen” Rude! So after five more pints we nipped down to barbecue hut and got a lovely donner hoagie which more than made up for it.
Doing the lane at the back of it trying to clean the rubbish and glass away
