Contribuiți la feedbackCan only add a short review as we ate a take away from TanTamar before hitting Bergstraße later on in the evening. The order consisted of a spicy chili beef, glass noodle stir fry, sweet and sour duck, duck breast salad and some wontons with the usual rice. All the food was fresh and well seasoned with the usual blend of thai basil, lemongrass and coriander being the dominant tastes. The rice and the wontons were also freshly cooked and survived the 10 minute car journey back home, with no hint of sogginess or drying out. Paid around 55EUR for the order which for 4 is reasonable for German prices. Can't recommend this place highly enough.
So, we were fortunate enough to be one of their last customers, as they were switching to only delivery, starting the next day, and were closing up that night. The food was delicious, a restaurant that was usually bustling, was filled with scattered, rather nervous diners, with ample space of more than six feet on account of the new rules that went into effect as well a few days earlier. The Corona-virus times are going to be something that remains in my memory a long time to come, as I lie stranded in Germany, on account of the travel lockdowns everywhere, unable to get back to the US. But enough about my troubles. This restaurant serves delicious food!!! I can see why it was always packed to the hilt, the few times we did try to get in earlier! Then we started doing takeaways from there, and there too, the place seemed to be bustling and our orders were ready. So, I am truly delighted for them and all the other restaurants we have done take aways from! Please stay safe and see you, hopefully, on the other side of this.
Simply a fantastic Thai restaurant. My standard unit of measurement is a Pad Thai after sampling Pad Thais from Los Angeles to New York, London, Berlin, Hong Kong, Phuket, etc. it could be said that TanTamar up here of the beaten track in Kiel has one of the best! The noodles are perfect, the shrimp are clean and deshelled and the sprouts, peanuts, salt and seasoning are all in perfect balance. Would also recommend the delicious fried rice and Penang curry. Prices are fair and the service is very friendly. The only unusual drawback is that the seasonings from the kitchen can float into the main room of the restaurant, which can tickle the throat a little bit. Although this can be slightly uncomfortable, it still is ot enough to take away from the 5 star review. Well done TanTamar!
