Contribuiți la feedbackBrilliant food and great service. We stumbled across the campsite after a long days drive in our motorhome. We spotted this place and thought we wold try it out. American style diner with American food the attention to detail is amazing and I thouroughly enjoyed the food! Will be back next time I am I germany
This restaurant opposite a water-skiing lake on the outskirts of Kiefersfelden and overlooking the Kaisergebirge. It is pretty much in a perfect location. The restaurant itself it decorated in the style of and American Highway bar or Fast food restaurant with a Music theme to it. It is done very well with the advertisements and decorations being original American. The service was reasonably quick and we had our drinks served to us within 5 minutes of being seated. The menu is quite large and offers a reasonable choice of Burgers Steak Chicken and Fish in various forms. The menu can be found here [hidden link] I chose the Deep Purple which is a large Burger with cheese onions some salad and chips. My wife went for the recommended Pulled pork, or John Lee Hooker as it is known on the menu. She said she really quite enjoyed it even though it was a bit too soggy for her liking too. I tried her meal and found it really rather horrible, the texture of shredded pork in so much sauce not being to my liking at all. When the food arrived it looked very appetising, but then I tried to pick up the burger. The bun was so soft and soggy that the contents nearly fell out as there was that much sauce on it. The limp lettuce looked as if it had been out in the sun all day. The slice of tomato also looked very tired. The burger itself was tasty and obviously the taste was improved with the masses of sauce that had been applied. Please note that if you are worried about your sugar levels or calorie intake this is not the place for you to eat. I have got to add that the location is perfect and the restaurant itself is well done but the food was let’s say questionable. To cap it all with these 2 items and a couple of drinks from the menu we ended up paying 42 euros for essentially a couple of burger and chips with a drink. Just a bit overly expensive and certainly not worth that sort of money. Oh and also on the printed menu it advises that a tip of at least 10% on top of the final price should be given….a bit cheeky I would say….as we often give a lot more….but in this place the service certainly didn’t even warrant the extra 10%.
In view of the Kaiser Mountains and a clear view of the Hodenauer Lake, with its marvelous Wake Board towing attraction, I found a touch of home in the Bavarian Alps. Although we just settled for some nachos, the beer seemed to be the highlight served in marvelous glass mugs. Although we will miss the former LUDWIG'S, we will return for one of those huge American hamburgers this winter. Right now, it was a lighter fare for us at this, our closest neighborhood joint!
Who really wants to eat burgers is right here! There are great drinks and cool ambience on top! Today for me there was a salad plate, on request with garlic baguette super delicious, especially because it is not just boring leaf salad but a really horny satt maker salad with maissalate, dressed beans, Krautsalat, potato salad etc... really good! And enjoy the outside on the beautiful terrace Only to recommend!
Well, for dinner. We were there with 9 people, 3 of them. We ordered a cross-field and JEDER was highly satisfied and pappsatt. Whether citizens, steaks or finger food, tastefully very large class and also from the crowd super. I would particularly like to praise the roast potatoes, a dream. The price is when considering quality and quantity absolutely good, you can't really paint. The operation is super nice and flutter and always cares whether everything fits. Special wishes were also immediately met nicely and courteously. The view is of course a dream, a lake with water ski lift embedded in a fantastic mountain landscape. And the ambience was amazing. Already when entering, the Rockabilly heart beats higher, cars and motorcycles converted as tables, etc. I haven't felt so comfortable for a long time. A real American Dream Local. We come from Cham in the Oberpfälzer, but this place will become our intermediate stop even more often, especially because you can also stay on site at the campsite. Of me 5 stars, but only because there are no six. Greetings from Cham, Stocki and Family
