I beautiful, but aged beauty. This hotel has a long and storied history. Don’t stay if you are expecting everything to be perfect. Alex, the owner was pleasant and gave us a special tour of the tavern area.I hope they are able to make it a viable business and make it a place where people not only come to experience a haunting but a true appreciation for its grand architecture.The beds were super comfy. We actually overslept.

Called on a Sunday afternoon to book a room. Got in at 9pm and we were greeted and told how to get into the hotel. Gentleman even walked us up to our hotel room. Gentleman was very friendly and treated us like family. We left early morning to go to algoma for fishing and he was excited to hear about how our fishing went. We will definitely be back. Absolutely loved the hotelRooms: Rooms were comfortable and spaciousNearby activities: Ludington tug boat tour is walking distance. Which is really cool

Came to the city for one night they had rooms available. The rooms were clean. They were very hospitable very great customer service, and I will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here one night last week. Had stayed here about 14 mos. ago it was an experience. Paid $75 for corner room. Main problem was sheer curtains kept the room dimly lit all night. Owner 's nephew was charming.This time the owner was present we paid $150 for same room (breakfast incl. . Sheers still allowed room to be dimly lit all night. Breakfast consisted of serve-yourself dry cereal, sweet rolls juice which I believe was sitting out all night as we had seen it when we walked thru dining area night before.Additionally, our bathroom vent fan wasn 't working owner seemed not to believe us when we mentioned it but after seeing for himself said someone would look at it.The building is a treasure and with a lot of costly restoration work, could return to its former elegance.All in all, we were quite disappointed this time.

Be aware of the ghosts. Fun hotel. Highly recommend. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Loved the continental breakfast.
