The Empourium - Kernersville

This bar has great potential with fantastic pool and dart games and a nice atmosphere. However, the bartender (I don't know his name, but he has dreadlocks) seemed more interested in not being there than in serving us. He was completely rude and took five minutes to come to the bar to take our drink orders. Every time we asked for something, he acted as if we were a bother and kept stepping outside to smoke. We're there to spend money and support your business, yet we were treated this way? Not acceptable. I'd recommend going somewhere else where you might feel more welcome.

The bartender seemed quite uninterested. We accidentally spilled a drink twice and cleaned it up ourselves, but it felt like the bartender was holding a personal grudge throughout the experience. I visit bars to enjoy myself, not to feel like I'm at daycare under constant supervision. Edit: The response I received was great, which improved my rating, but my concerns still apply.

I've heard that they have music a couple of days a week, which is nice. The drink prices are reasonably fair, and the new bartender seems cool and interesting. Unfortunately, the previous male bartender was quite lackluster. He didn’t motivate me to stay longer or tip well – I usually leave a dollar per drink when I'm not feeling it. I was ready to leave until the shift change. As for the service, it was definitely a one-star experience. There were only two other customers in the bar, and the music was canceled, leaving us with a Spotify playlist featuring Metallica, which I enjoy. I tried to strike up a conversation by asking if he’d heard their new album. He hadn't, so I suggested playing a new song. He replied that he couldn’t change the playlist, which I found disappointing. Considering I was one of only three paying customers – and the only one ordering liquor – I felt that this lack of flexibility deserved a lower tip, and it confirmed to me that he was an average bartender at best. In my opinion, it was a one-star service.

We had a fantastic time at this fun place! My father, girlfriend, and I really enjoyed ourselves.

We're coming to spend our money in your establishment, and to be treated like that is unacceptable. I recommend finding somewhere else where you're made to feel welcome.
