Cape Arundel Inn Resort - KENNEBUNKPORT

During our stay at the Bunkhouse, we encountered two other guests who shared the same frustrations. We had chosen this hotel for its appealing oceanfront location, and we were disappointed to find ourselves in a secluded wooded setting instead. The Bunkhouse rooms were dated and in need of renovation. The bathrobes provided were rough and pilled, and we often found the service counter unattended. Although there was a pool at the Bunkhouse that appeared nice and well-maintained, it wasn't the main reason we chose to stay here. On a positive note, the Inn and Resort itself was beautiful. However, we cannot provide much feedback on the restaurant since we only experienced breakfast the following day, which was overwhelmingly disappointing. We spent about $75 on a lackluster meal for two. My wife had ordered the asparagus omelet, only to find out they were out of asparagus. When she asked what it would come with instead, the server simply replied, "Nothing." While I have no doubt that the Inn and Resort is wonderful, I noticed that there are very few images of the Bunkhouse rooms in online reviews. I strongly urge caution when making reservations.

The setting was beautiful, but unfortunately, our room did not match the luxury experience we had anticipated for $1,000 a night. It had a strong smell of urine, the bathroom sink was inoperable, and the broken window shade allowed the sunrise to blare into my bed. The photos on TripAdvisor looked fantastic, but our actual room was nowhere near as nice. On the second night, we were moved to an even smaller room with a less desirable view, although at least the sink was functional there. The only silver lining was the great weather. I can't recommend this "resort" at all. They say you get what you pay for, but this experience was nothing but frustration and disappointment. Overall, it felt like a waste of money with no remedy for our issues.

Everything was absolutely perfect! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The facility was wonderful, especially our spacious room. We will definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you, Sandreen. Mike and Jan Langis

The restaurant has wonderful service and a divine selection of food. Each item in my 3 course meal was fantastic, and the chocolate dessert melted in my mouth. I had a spectacular seat looking out to the water. I highly recommend the restaurant. I did not stay at the resort, so I can not comment on the rooms.Service: 5/5
